REFUGEE SPONSORSHIP TEAM UPDATE: Youssef had his interview with the Canadian consulate in Beirut. They reviewed his case, heard his story, and told him there and then that he has passed the interview and will be welcomed to Canadian residency!
The next steps:
Youssef and his daughters need to pass the medical exam and work with the IOM (International Organization for Migration) to ensure he has the proper child-custody documentation necessary for the Lebanese authorities to allow him to travel. Once he passes the medical exam and has the IOM papers he needs, then the Canadian government will provide Youssef an interest-free loan to cover the cost of travel, and we can begin to plan his travel.

Fundraising: We are excited to share with you that our refugee sponsorship committee has launched a fundraising campaign for Youssef and his two daughters, Rouaa & Diala.  Please share the link below with your friends, neighbors, and family.
