PRE-REGISTRATION FOR SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES: Please remember to contact the church office on a weekly basis to let Janet know if you plan to attend the Sunday Worship Service. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it is helpful for us to know ahead of time how many people to expect each week. You can leave a voicemail at (604) 859-6902 or email Janet at office@calvinpresbyterian.ca. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
ABBOTSFORD FOOD BANK: Carole Sookdeo will come to the church once a month to collect the food bank donations from the blue bins. She will collect them on Friday, October 30th and on Friday, November 27th between 10 AM and 12 NOON, so please bring your donations in prior to each of these dates. Thank you.
CARIBOO PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CHRISTMAS MINISTRY: If you would like to help us in our continuing partnership with the Cariboo Presbyterian House Church Ministry as they serve the people in the Ndazkoh and Lhoosk’uz areas, Jon and Shannon Wyminga will be coming to the coast at the end of October to shop for their Sunday School Kids. Please make your donation payable to Calvin Presbyterian Church and mark the offering envelope as “Cariboo Church Christmas Ministry”. Thank you.
LADIES BIBLE STUDY: The study will resume Tuesday, October 20th at 10:00 am in the Fireside Room at the church, where social distancing can be maintained. We will be continuing our Willow Creek study by John Ortberg entitled “Groups – the life-giving power of community.” Remember your mask and your study book and bible. Thank you. Margaret Allan
CHRISTMAS SHOEBOXES FOR SAMARITAN’S PURSE: The Christmas shoeboxes and pamphlets from Samaritan’s Purse are available at the front door. The donation of $10 per box for shipping expenses can be put in the envelope included with the pamphlet and placed in the top of the box. If you wish me to complete a box for you, as it is difficult for you to get out and about, please place $30 in an envelope, marked Shoeboxes, in the offering plate. You will receive a tax receipt at the end of the year. Thank you. Margaret Houtby National Collection Week is November 16th – 22nd.
