In the Presbyterian Church in Canada, the ministry of a church never depends on one person. When one minister completes his service to a congregation, other leaders from the wider Presbyterian family come alongside to provide support and practical assistance.
The Rev. Dr. Bob Paul has been appointed to serve as Interim Moderator for Calvin Presbyterian Church for the next several months, until a new minister is selected.
Dr. Paul is Dean of St. Andrew’s Hall, the Presbyterian theological college located at the University of British Columbia. He teaches as Professor of Mission Theology at the Vancouver School of Theology. Previously, he served several Presbyterian churches in California, Washington, and Oregon. His home is in Vancouver with his wife, Susan.
As Interim Moderator, Dr. Paul will preach at Calvin on many Sundays, and will arrange for others to preach when he is not able to do so. He will work closely with the Session (Board of Elders) of the church and members of the congregation to continue the various activities of the church, to provide for pastoral care as needs arise, and to establish plans for church’s future.
